This morning, the Director General of the Mauritanian Postal Company, Mr. Ali Ould Issa, met with the parliamentary representative for the American constituency, Mr. Yahya Ould Loud. The meeting was an opportunity in which the representative listened to the efforts of the Mauritanian Postal Company to be a bridge between the expatriates of the country and their families and to develop the services provided to customers and future projects for the benefit of our communities in Abroad, which has so far resulted in the signing of an agreement with the Gabonese Post, which will enable Mauritanians residing in this country to transfer money easily.
The Director General pointed out that contacts are ongoing with the American Postal Service, the Spanish Postal Service and the Angolan Postal Service to sign similar agreements.
On another level, the General Manager indicated that the company is studying a housing savings project dedicated exclusively to Mauritanians abroad, noting that the company has the first and oldest savings window.
In turn, Mr. Representative appreciated Morebust’s interest in diaspora issues and gave a valuable presentation on the needs of the community in America and the available opportunities, especially in the fields of shipping and e-commerce. The two parties agreed to continue consultation on these topics in order to actually translate them into projects that serve the communities and help in the well-being and prosperity of the country.
